Advises worth sharing

Going through my 20-s was (and still is) a thought bending moment. At 19 I landed my first full-time job, being a student which just passed his first term. It was something unbelievable for me, to work in a team on projects that are currently in use by private companies.

At the second term of university, I’ve started move Define knowledge true (for short def_true), to raise people’s attention to the fun part of the IT world. Due to the lack of managing and marketing experience, this movement was put on hold after hosting 14 meetups.

Seeing the failure of it, my next step was to organize a non-profit group of students to create games for smartphones and PC. Yes, still without managing and marketing experience. But it was not the Achilles heel of this group of same-minded-people. It was lack of investments.

Working full-time, studying full-student-time, organizing events and then trying to organize a team. This cocktail which had sorrow feeling in it left me in hangover state, a burnout state. The only option for me was to put def_true on hold, to cancel team, to quit working place.

What left of me is just me, a me who was hidden beneath my skin. Me, who have been forgotten, who have not been progressing in his social desires, who have not been able to say anything. A crushed human-being.

Maybe you can already tell where it went off the rails, but it does not mean everyone should follow the same path. Learn from people around, from people with different desires and points. Read articles from people who earned respect in your desired industry1.

What I would add to this list, what I have missed for myself, is spent as much time as you can with the ones which matter to you, create and help to create projects of the ones who around you. Be progressive, understand yourself, don’t lose the balance of yourself.

Those failures changed my vision on projects, I’ve started to look at probabilities of success, tried to find projects which would lead to earnings. Which now I think after looking at what I’ve accomplished is rubbish, it’s not the way how you should allocate your time for projects2.
